 Public Works

Maintenance Worker I -  $19.08 or determined based on qualifications.  

This position will perform maintenance and construction of City infrastructure, recreational facilities, park grounds, and buildings.  Other duties include, but are not limited to, repairs on City streets, curbs, sidewalks, parking lots, drainage systems including culverts and ditches, park grounds, operating light to heavy equipment and tree trimming, and brush removal, grass and trimming.   

Recreation Supervisor - Youth & Adult Sports / Rentals -  will be determined based on qualifications.  

Assists the Director in the oversight, implementation, and operation of Fenton programs, specifically Youth and Adult Sports and Rentals. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all athletic facilities at the Fenton City Park, Fenton Sports Complex, and rentals within the Parks and Recreation Department, including but not limited to hiring staff, coordinating the daily maintenance operations of all athletic playing fields and rentals, and planning, promoting, implementing, and supervising the youth and adult sports programs. Assists with other programs/events throughout the Parks and Recreation Department at the request of the Director.

Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Tourism, Marketing, or related field with at least three (3) years of experience in related work, or other equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to obtain and retain a Basic First Aid and CPR/AED certification. May require specific related certification, depending on area assigned.

Athletic Fields Maintenance Worker  -  $18.80 or determined based on qualifications. 

During the peak seasons of use of the City’s various fields and park facilities, which is approximately nine months (early spring to late fall), performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled labor associated with making sure the City’s fields stay in optimal playing condition, the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and other duties as assigned under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor – Sports/Rentals.  Performs various aspects of athletic field maintenance, including turf and skinned area maintenance, and related service activities for the City of Fenton’s athletic fields. Directly participates in the daily maintenance and preparation of all playing surfaces. Assists and enforces the rules, regulations, and safety of all participants.  Has significant interaction with the general public, athletic directors, coaches, players, and event organizers.
