Director of Public Works 

Pay Grade: 15 ($79,379 - $102,002 - $124,624)
The ideal candidate is a solution-oriented and collaborative leader with the ability to perform complex supervisory, administrative duties. Manages routine and emergency operations of the Public Works Department. Develops and administers projects and grants, manages staff, oversees budget planning and management, reviews and approves procurements, initiates safety programs, develops Capital Improvement Plan projects, directs overall departmental operations including City streets, parks, vehicles, and infrastructure maintenance and improvements, and interacts with political figures, the public, and other departments within and outside of the City.

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Public Works, Construction, or related field. Six years of Public Works supervisory experience or other equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in grant writing for Public Works Departments is desired. Professional Engineering license is desired. Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.

Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic.  This position ensures the maintenance and repair of all City vehicles and equipment, schedules maintenance and repair of City vehicles and equipment, updates documentation logs on vehicles and equipment, as oversees inventory maintenance and ensures compliance with EPA and OSHA rules and regulations, as they pertain to vehicle maintenance.  Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional training in vehicle maintenance and repair, and three or more years of related work experience or other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Commercial Driver’s License preferred, but not required.

Parks and Recreation

Fitness Supervisor 

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Recreation Supervisor - Fitness. This position assists the Director in the oversight, implementation, and operation of RiverChase programs, specifically Fitness. The Fitness supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the fitness area at RiverChase, hiring and training of personal trainers, fitness instructors and fitness staff, coordinates daily maintenance of the fitness area, aerobic rooms, fitness area, aerobic classes, personal training, and silver sneaker programs. Assists with other programs/events throughout the Parks and Recreation Department at the request of the Director. Applicants must have a bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Tourism, Marketing, or related field with three to five years of experience in related work, or other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must maintain a CPR certification.  Must have a valid, current driver’s license. Must have a nationally recognized certification (ACSM, ACE, NSCA or AFAA) and be a certified Silver Sneakers instructor (or obtain one within 90 days of hire).

Youth and Adult Sports/Rentals

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Recreation Supervisor – Youth and Adult Sports/Rentals. This position assists the Director in the oversight, implementation, and operation of RiverChase programs, specifically Youth and Adult Sports and Rentals. The supervisor reports to the Parks and Recreation Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all Athletic Facilities at the Fenton City Park and RiverChase Recreation Center, hiring and training concessions staff, officials, field managers and score keepers, coordinates daily maintenance operations of all athletic playing fields, youth and adult sports programs. Assists with other programs/events throughout the Parks and Recreation Department at the request of the Director. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Tourism, Marketing, or related field with three to five years of experience in related work, or other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must maintain a CPR certification.  Must have a valid, current driver’s license. May require specific related certification, depending on area assigned.

Recreation Supervisor – Camps/Special Events/Front Desk

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Recreation Supervisor – Camps/Special Events/Front Desk. This position assists the Director in the oversight, implementation, and operation of RiverChase programs, specifically Camps, Special Events and Front Desk. The Camps, Special Events, and Front Desk Recreation Supervisor is responsible for hiring and training of camp counselors, gymnastic instructors, front desk attendants and pool booth staff, Plans, designs, promotes implements, and supervises summer, spring break and holiday camps, stay and play and special events. Assists with other programs/events throughout the Parks and Recreation Department at the request of the Director. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Tourism, Marketing, or related field with three to five years of experience in related work, or other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must maintain a CPR certification.  Must have a valid, current driver’s license. May require specific related certification, depending on area assigned.
