Maintenance Worker I

Lead Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker 

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Lead Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker.  This position performs manual routine work in all phases of building cleaning operations including vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, replacing cleaning and custodial supplies, cleaning windows and doors (inside and outside), removing snow, basic landscaping, replacing light bulbs, painting interior and exterior surfaces, and other building maintenance activities as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent with three (3) years’ experience in public works, construction, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have valid Driver's License (CDL preferred, but not required).

Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant/Memberships

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Bookkeeper, Administrative Assistant and Memberships. Assists the Director in the oversight, implementation, and operation of RiverChase programs, specifically Memberships. Performs daily accounting functions including accounts receivable, cash receipts, balancing of the general ledger and ensuring City financial policy guidelines are being followed within the Parks and Recreation Department. All administrative duties required by the Parks and Recreation department including ordering of office supplies, maintaining office equipment, and computer support. System Administrator to the Community Pass registration software. Serves as primary contact for all membership inquiries. Assists with other programs/events throughout the Parks and Recreation Department at the request of the Director. Applicants must have associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. At least three years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Recreation Associate 1 - Front Desk - RiverChase

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Recreation Associate 1 – Front Desk worker at RiverChase. This position is responsible for greeting gym users, answering phones, checking members and guests into community pass, registering customers for classes, programs and memberships, checking in and out rental equipment, collecting fees for all transactions and balancing cash drawers after every shift.

Recreation Supervisor – Camps/Special Events/Front Desk

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Recreation Supervisor – Camps/Special Events/Front Desk. This position assists the Director in the oversight, implementation, and operation of RiverChase programs, specifically Camps, Special Events and Front Desk. The Camps, Special Events and Front Desk Recreation Supervisor is responsible for hiring and training of camp counselors, gymnastic instructors, front desk attendants and pool booth staff. Plans, designs, promotes, implements, and supervises summer, spring break and holiday camps, stay and play and special events. Assists with other programs/events throughout the Parks and Recreation Department at the request of the Director. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Tourism, Marketing, or related field with three to five years of experience in related work, or other equivalent combination of education and experience. Must maintain a CPR certification. Must have a valid, current driver’s license. May require specific related certification, depending on area assigned.

Athletic Fields Ground Keeper

The City of Fenton is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Athletic Field Grounds keeper during the peak seasons of use of the City’s various fields and park facilities, which is approximately none months (early spring to late fall). This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled labor associated with making sure the City’s fields stay in optimal playing condition, the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and other duties as assigned under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor – Adult and Youth Sports/Rentals. Performs various aspects of athletic field maintenance, including turf and skinned area maintenance, and related service activities for the City of Fenton’s athletic fields. Directly participates in the daily maintenance and preparation of all playing surfaces. Assists and enforces the rules, regulations, and safety of all participants. Has significant interaction with the general public, athletic directors, coaches, players, and event organizers.

Applicants must have a high School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) or more years of related work experience or other equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
